New Born Owly Hat



I'm so excited to share this cute crochet owl hat pattern for new born babies that I made yesterday. I made this for my future niece. Well I'm hoping it's a girl. My sister is 2 months pregnant and were excited to have another baby in the family. I'm quite sure I'll be busy crocheting some cute stuffs for this baby. Maybe I'm just so excited because I have another model for my crochet projects. LOL

Here's the pattern...



Materials Needed:

worsted weight yarn
        peach
        white
        orange
        lavender
        black
5.5 mm crochet hook
3.5 mm crochet hook
yarn cutter


Dimensions:
                 circumference - 12-13 " 
                  height       -   5" including earflaps


Notes: When joining the hat always make a slip stitch on the 3rd chain of your chain 3

           Use a size I (5.5 mm) crochet hook for the hat and a size E(3.5 mm) crochet hook for the eyes and beak


Instructions

 Hat






Use Peach Yarn


Round 1: Magic Ring, Chain 3, 9 DC in magic ring, join, (10DC)

Round 2: Chain 3 counts as a DC,DC in the same stitch, 2 DC in each around,join, (20 DC)

Round 3: Chain 3,DC in same stitch, DC in next, (DC inc, DC in the next)* repeat 8 times, join, (30 DC)

Round 4: Chain 3, DC in same stitch, DC in next 4, (DC inc, DC in next 4 )* repeat 4 times, join,  (36 DC)

Round 5-10:  Chain 3, 36 DC, join (36 DC)

Don't fasten off, start working on the earflaps.



Earflap 1:


Row 1: 6 SC, turn


Row 2: Chain 1, SC dec, 2 SC, SC dec, turn

Row 3: Chain 1, 4 SC, turn

Row 4: Chain 1, 2 SC decreases, turn

Row 5: Chain 1, 2 SC

Fasten Off. Weave ends



Earflap 2:


Row 1: count 13 stitches from your 1st earflap, 6 SC, turn


Row 2: Chain 1, SC dec, 2 SC, SC dec, turn

Row 3: Chain 1, 4 SC, turn

Row 4: Chain 1, 2 SC decreases, turn

Row 5: Chain 1, 2 SC

Fasten Off. Weave ends


SC on the edges using a white yarn


Braids:


Cut 4 strands of white yarn and 2 strands of peach yarn ( 12" each )


Fold them in half and pull the folded side with a hook to the center bottom part of the earflap.

Pull the ends of the yarn to the loop.

Divide the strands in 3 parts. Start braiding.

Tie a knot to finish.


Eyes:





Left Eye

Use White Yarn

Round 1: Magic Ring, Chain 3, 10 DC on chain, slip stitch to the 3rd chain of your chain 3 (10 DC)

Round 2:  Chain 1, SC in same stitch, 2 SC in each stitch around (20 SC made)

Round 3:  Chain 3, DC in same stitch, 2 DC in each stitch around (40 DC made)

Leave a tail for sewing

Sew the eyebrows using a black yarn





Right Eye 

Round 1: Use black yarn, magic ring, Chain 3, 10 DC on chain, slip stitch to the 3rd chain of your chain 3 (10 DC)

Round 2:  Change to lavender yarn, Chain 1, SC in same stitch, 2 SC in each stitch around (20 SC made)

Round 3:  Change to white yarn, Chain 3, DC in same stitch, 2 DC in each stitch around (40 DC made)

Leave a tail for sewing






Beak:


Use orange yarn

Row 1: Chain 9, SC in the 2nd chain from hook, 7 SC, turn (8 SC)

Row 2: Chain 1 , 8 SC, turn (8 SC)

Row 3: Chain 1, SC dec, 4 SC, SC dec, turn (6 SC)

Row 4: Chain 1, 6 SC, turn (6 SC)

Row 5: Chain 1, SC dec, 2 SC, SC dec, turn (4 SC)


Row 6: Chain 1, 4 SC, turn (4 SC)

Row 7: Chain 1, 2 SC dec

Leave a tail for sewing




Pom pom

Join a strand of a white and orange yarn and wrap it around your hand 10 times. Cut the yarn and hold the end. Squeeze it through the 3rd round of the hat and tie it together with a yarn. Do the same for the second pom pom.

Candy Crush Saga's Odus the Owl Amigurumi


Good day everyone, sorry if I haven't posted anything for a week. I've been sick for days but I'm back now and so is Odus. I made a bigger version of him. I hope you find him more adorable this time. Crochet one for your friends and family who loves to play Candy Crush Saga. 



My hubby draw Odus for me. I really sucked at drawing:)

Supplies Needed:


Worsted Weight Yarn(Lavender)
     Blue
     Orange
     White
3.5 mm steel hook
yarn cutter
single strand copper wire (20 cm long)
superglue
11 
long nose pliers for shaping the eyebrows


Finished item dimensions:

height: 5 inches
width: 3.25 inches


Crochet Abbreviations:

SC - single crochet
dec - decrease
inc - increase

Use the lavender yarn

Body


Round 1: Use Lavender Yarn, Magic Ring , Chain 1, 6 SC, join (6 SC)

Round 2: Chain 1, SC in same- increase made. SC inc all your way around, join (12 SC)

Round 3: Chain 1, SC in same, SC in the next 1, (SC inc, SC in the next
1)*repeat 3 times, join (18 SC)

Blue Yarn

Round 1: Magic Ring, 6 SC in chain, fasten off

White Yarn

Round 1: Chain 5, SC in the 2nd chain from hook, SC in the next 2, 4 SC in the next,
Work in rounds, 3 SC, 4 SC in the next , 

Round 2: 3 SC, SC inc in next 4, 3 SC, 1 SC, SC inc in the next 2, 1 SC, slip stitch, fasten off

Sew the eyes together. Refer to the picture above.



Beak

Use Orange yarn Round 1: Magic Ring, 4 SC in ring
Round 2:  Skip 1 SC, SC in the next, fasten off




Claws (Make 2)


Use Orange yarn

Round 1: Use Yellow Yarn, Magic Ring , Chain 1, 6 SC, join 
Round 2: Chain 1, SC in same- increase made. SC inc all your way around, join
Round 3:  (Chain 6, Skip 1 Chain, 5 SC, slip stitch in next)* repeat 2 times






Head and Tail


Use blue yarn


Round 1: Use Yellow Yarn, Magic Ring , Chain 1, 6 SC, join (6 SC)

Round 2: Chain 1, SC in same- increase made. SC inc all your way around, join (12 SC)

Round 3: Chain 1, SC in same, SC in the next 1, (SC inc, SC in the next
1)*repeat 3 times, join (18 SC)

Round 4: Chain 1, SC in same, SC in the next 2, (SC inc, SC in the next 2)* repeat  4 times, join (24 SC)

Round 5: Chain 1, SC in same, SC in the next 3, (SC inc, SC in the next 3)* repeat  4 times, join (30 SC)

Round 6: Chain 1, SC in same, SC in the next 4, (SC inc, SC in the next 4)*
repeat 4 times, join, (36 SC)

Round 7: Chain 1, SC in same, SC in the next 5, (SC inc, SC in the next 5)*

Round 9: 48 SC, dont fasten off continue working for his forehead 

          Forehead part

Row 1: Chain 1, 8 SC, turn
Row 2: Chain 1, SC dec, 4 SC, SC dec, turn
Row 3: Chain 1, 6 SC, turn
Row 4: Chain 1, SC dec, 2 SC, SC dec,  turn
Row 5:  4 SC, turn
Row 6: 2 SC dec, turn
Row 7:  2 SC, fasten off

         Back Portion and Tail:

Count 14 SC from the forehead part and work on the back part and tail
Row 1: Chain 1, 12 SC, turn
Row 2:  Chain 1, SC dec, 8 SC, SC dec, turn
Row 3: Chain 1, 10 SC, turn
Row 4: Chain 1, SC dec, 6 SC, SC dec, turn
Row 5: Chain 1, 8 SC, turn
Row 6: Chain 1, SC dec, SC in next 4, SC dec, turn
Row 7: Chain 1, 6 SC, turn
Row 8: Chain 1, SC dec, 2 SC, SC dec, turn
Row 9-14: Chain 1, 4 SC, turn 


         Don't fasten off continue working on the tail

(Chain 11, SC in the 2nd chain from your hook, 10 SC, slip stitch on the next) *repeat 2 times, fasten off










Wings (Make 2)

Use blue yarn

Round 1: Chain 5, SC in the 2nd chain from hook, SC in the next 2, 4 SC in the next,
Work in rounds, 3 SC, 4 SC in the next , 

Round 2: 3 SC, SC inc, SC inc , SC in the next 2, SC inc in the next 2,


3 SC, SC in the next, SC inc in the next 2, SC in the next, 







Eyebrows

*Cut a 20 cm(8 inches) in length  single strand copper wire
*Fold in half and shape it like shown in the picture using a long nose pliers
*Wrap the wire with blue yarn, put superglue on the ends
*Wrap with white yarn to alternate the blue and white yarn as shown above


Assembly


Eyes - between round 18 - 26

Beak - between round 18 - 19

Wings - the upper portion of the wings is positioned at round 21

Head, back and tail - the tip of his forehead is positioned at round 24

Claws - at the bottom

eyebrows - position just above the tip of his forehead

Odus Amigurumi






I just finished another amigurumi project. This is my second amigurumi project and I'm happy to see that It turned out cute. My first project was the flappy bird






Meet Odus the owl from the famous game Candy Crush. Owls are very popular these days and I thought of crocheting one. I love Odus because he's so cute but I hate him everytime he falls off from the crescent moon. 




I wasn't able to finish writing the pattern yet. Hopefully I can share the pattern with you by tomorrow.
