3D Heart Granny Square Baby Blanket – Free Crochet Pattern

Hi guys, It’s been a long time since I’ve been gone. I had so much to do with my work and can’t find time to finish my crochet projects. I had a long break last holy week and I was able to finish the video tutorial and written pattern. I have made this 3d heart granny square baby blanket for my 5 month pregnant belly. Yes I’m expecting my second baby and I really think it’s a girl. I’ve had my  ultrasound exam but the doctor can’t tell its gender because its umbilical cord is blocking it. I just hope it’s a girl. I’m just so excited to have a new baby in the family. I can’t wait to see my baby with this blanket. This is my first crochet blanket pattern and I’m glad that it turned out great. I hope you liked it too. What do you think about my 3d heart granny square baby blanket? Please tell me in the comments section below.

Valentine Baby Crochet Hat

Meet Courtney, my 3 month old niece. I crocheted a lovely Valentine hat for her but wasn’t able to give it to her before the occasion. I’m so excited to give it to her but I’m busy with my son and some paper works. I hope I can give it to her next week. I’ll post pictures as soon as I can give it to her. I’m also currently  making a bunny hat for her. She’s my new model. LOL.

How to Crochet a Heart – Video Tutorial

Hi there my fellow crocheters, I’m so happy to be back to share another video tutorial. Today I’m going to show you how to crochet a heart. Valentines is almost here so this project is so perfect for the occasion. You can choose any color that you want with this project. I have used a red, blue and pink yarn. You can use this heart for greetings cards, appliques for your crochet projects and also as a garland and any other Valentine craft ideas that you can think of. I have also provided a written pattern on how to crochet a heart below. I hope that you like my video and don’t forget to subscribe to my Youtube Channel for more crochet video tutorials.

For the written tutorial just follow the instructions below:

Materials Needed:

4mm crochet hook

DK weight yarn (color of your choice)

yarn cutter / scissor

Instructions:

Make a Magic Ring

Round 1: Working on the ring (Chain 3, Triple Crochet 3 times, Double Crochet 2 times, Chain 1, Double Crochet 2 times, Triple Crochet 3 times, Chain 3, Slip Stitch into the ring, Cut the yarn to your desired length if you will use it as an applique for your other crochet project.

Bring the yarn end to the back by inserting it to the ring. Hold that part with your right hand and grab the other yarn to tighten the motif and to avoid holes on the heart. Tie the two yarns at the back, there’s no need to weave ends.

Heart Stitch Marker

I just made a cute heart stitch marker for my crochet projects. I really love crochet and cross stitch so  I thought of combining them in this project. You can also use this as a cellphone charm or a keychain or whatever you want it to. This is so easy to make so make yours too…
Supplies Needed:

Aida Cloth
Lace Yarn
1.3 mm steel hook
yarn cutter
cross stitch needle
lobster clasp

Here’s the pattern for the heart.

Make 2

Cut them as shown on the picture using a yarn cutter.

Join the two heart pieces and sew them together as shown here
Using a red yarn, Insert your hook to the white yarn that we used to sew the hearts together. (Chain 6, Insert hook into the 4th chain, yarn over, pull,
slip stitch into the next white yarn)* repeat 9 times. Slip stitch, fasten off. Weave ends.

Do the same thing on the other side of the heart. Insert a red yarn in the upper central part of the heart to the lobster clasp. Tie it up and you’re done.

By the way, guess what’s my next post. I’m done making the body, I just have to make the parts. Yeah right, I think you already know. It’s Odus again!, just a bigger one. I wanted to make a much more detailed version of him. I hope I can really pull this off. I’m so excited to share this project with you.
