Batman Baby Blanket Free Crochet Pattern

I am glad to be back to share another free crochet pattern here on my blog. I recently finished a new corner to corner crochet blanket for my son who is due this august. I’m so excited to see him since I have lost my daughter 3 years ago. Having him is a great blessing to our family.

Materials Needed:

Red Heart With Love Pewter – 2 skeins (grey)

Red Heart With Love Black – 1 skein (black)

Red Heart With Love Daffodil – 1 skein (yellow)

6.50 mm. crochet hook

pair of scissors

yarn needle

Abbreviations: 

ch – chain

sc – single crochet

dc – double chain

sl st – slip stitch

Gauge: 

6 blocks = 5″

Finished Blanket Dimensions:

approximately 33″ x 33 “

Graph Pattern:

Free Written Crochet Pattern:

With grey , ch 6.

Row 1 : Dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch; turn – 1 block made.

Row 2: Ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch, (slip st, ch 3, 3 dc) all in ch-3 space of previous row ; turn – 2 blocks made.

Row 3: Ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch, [(slip st, ch 3, 3 dc) all in next ch-3 space of previous row] twice; turn – 3 blocks made.

Row 4: Ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch, [(slip st, ch 3, 3 dc) all in next ch-3 space of previous row] 3 times; turn – 4 blocks made.

Continue in in this manner, increasing 1 block on each row until you reach row 21

Row 22: 14 grey blocks, 3 black blocks, 5 grey blocks = 22 blocks made

Row 23: 4 grey, 6 black, 13 grey = 23 blocks made

Row 24: 12 grey, 3 black, 2 yellow,3 black, 4 grey = 24 blocks made

Row 25: 4 grey, 2 black, 5 yellow, 2 black, 12 grey = 25 blocks made

Row 26: 11 grey, 2black, 2 yellow, 3 black, 2 yellow, 2 black, 4 grey = 26 blocks made

Row 27: 5 grey, 1 black, 2 yellow, 4 black, 2 yellow, 2 black, 11 grey = 27 blocks made

Row 28: 11 grey, 1 black, 4 yellow, 4 black, 2 yellow, 1 black, 5 grey = 28 blocks made

Row 29: 5 grey, 2 black, 1 yellow, 4 black, 5 yellow, 1 black, 11 grey = 29 blocks made

Now work in decreasing rows as follows:

turn your work, ch 3, *(slip st, ch 3, 3 dc) all in next ch-3 space of previous row; repeat from * to last ch-3 space; slip st in last space; turn, do not make a block in last space

How can I make this with just black and yellow? I love it but I’m new to this and haven’t a clue how to change it.

Thanks for the pattern. How do you change the yarn for echo row color? Do you bring the yarn along the row?

I dont know if I like your patterns or not. I need to print out the graft in order to use it. I have to use a ruler to follow the pattern. Cant do that on computer screen. Also cant mark off the rows as I finish each one. I cant mark up my computer screen. Wish I could. It would make my life easier. lol

Hi there. I’m busy making your batman baby blanket and I think there’s a mistake at line 35. (9 grey, 9 black, 1 yellow, 1 black, 3 yellow, 1 black, 11 grey = 35 blocks made) it doesn’t seem to make sense when working through it. Am I missing something ???
