Good day to my fellow Hookers out there. Today I am sharing a new free crochet pattern. Christmas is almost here and I think these crochet mittens will be great to hang in you Christmas tree. Last time I posted a free crochet pattern of my Christmas stocking ornaments, just take time to look at my last post to check it out. Christmas is my favorite occasion of the year and I just cant resist making cute ornaments for my Christmas tree. What do you think of my Christmas mitten ornaments? Materials Needed

worsted weight yarn (color of your choice and white) I used red heart with love yarns

size 10 crochet thread (white)

pair of scissors

4.25 mm. crochet hook

1.30 mm. crochet hook

yarn needle

darning needle for the crochet thread

Abbreviations:

Ch = Chain

SC = Single Crochet

SC inc = single crochet increase (make 2 single crochet in same stitch)

HDC = Half Double Crochet

HDC inc = half double crochet increase (make 2 half double crochet in same stitch)

sl st = slip stitch

sts = stitches



Free Crochet Pattern

For the Palm part

Using blue yarn make a magic Ring, Ch 1

Round 1: 6 SC in ring, sl st on top of 1st SC of the round (6 sts)

Round 2: Ch 1, SC inc in all sts, sl st (12 sts)

Round 3: Ch1, (SC inc, SC in next)* repeat around, sl st (18 sts)

Round 4-9: Ch 1, 18 SC, sl st (18 sts)

fasten off and leave a long tail so we can sew it together with the thumb part of our mitten

For the Thumb part

Using blue yarn make a magic Ring, Ch 1

Round 1: 5 SC in ring, sl st on top of 1st SC of the round (5 sts)

Round 2: Ch1, SC inc in all sts, sl st (10 sts)

Round 3-4: Ch 1, 10 SC, sl st (10 sts)

Connect the 2 parts of the mitten using the yarn from the palm part. Position them like in the picture shown above. Sew 3 stitches on the palm part and 3 stitches of the thumb part and them continue crocheting on the last stitch of the thumb part.

Round 10-14: Ch 1, 22 SC, sl st

Round 15: Ch 1, 11 SC, Ch 12, 11 SC, sl st, fasten off, weave ends

For the embellishment

Use the white yarn

Ch 25, skip 1 stitch (sl st, HDC inc, sl st)*repeat 8 times

Fasten off. Leave a long tail and sew it on the top part of the mitten.

For the Snowflake

Using white crochet thread, make a magic ring, Ch 1

Round 1: 12 SC in ring, sl st on top of 1st SC of the round

Round 2: (Ch 6, skip 1 ch, sl st in next 5 ch, sl st in next stitch, Ch 4, skip 1 stitch, sl stitch in next 3 ch, sl st in next stitch) repeat 6 times, sl st

Fasten off and sew it on the palm part of the mitten.
