Hi there fellow Crocheters, I’m back for another free crochet pattern. It’s almost Halloween and children loves trick or treat so I made this creepily cute looking Frankenstein trick or treat bag. I’m sure your little ones will love it.
I think he’s cute. Is it because I made it or he really looks cute? What can you say? Please tell me in the comments section below and I would love to hear your recommendations on my next crochet project. Anyways’ here’s the pattern…
Materials Needed:
Light Worsted Weight Yarn (Light Green, Green, Black, White)
5 mm crochet hook
3.5 mm crochet hook for the eyes
yarn cutter
Gauge:
4 DC sts = 1″
Finished Item Dimensions:
Bag without the handle/sling = 6.50″ L x 6.25″ W
Bag:
Use Light Green Yarn
Round 1: Magic Ring, Chain 2 (doesn’t count as a DC), make 10 DC in ring, slip stitch to the first DC = (10 DC sts)
Round 2: Chain 2 (doesn’t count as a DC), DC inc in each stitch around, slip stitch on the first DC stitch of the round = (20 DC sts)
Round 3: Chain 2, (DC inc in the next stitch, DC in the next)* repeat around, slip stitch = (30 DC sts)
Round 4: Chain 2, (DC inc in the next stitch, DC in the next 2 stitches )* repeat around = (40 DC sts)
Round 5- 10: Chain 2, DC in the next 40 sts = (40 DC stitches)
Change to Black Yarn
Round 11-14: Chain 2, DC in the next 40 sts = (40 DC stitches)
Fasten Off. Weave Ends.
Eyes:
Use Black Yarn
Round 1: Magic Ring, Chain 1, make 6 SC stitches on the ring, slip stitch to the first SC = (6 SC sts)
Change to Green Yarn
Round 2: SC inc in each stitch around = (12 SC sts)
Change to White Yarn
Round 3: (SC inc in the next stitch, SC in the next stitch) = (18 SC sts)
Fasten Off. Leave tail for sewing.
Handle:
Use Green Yarn
Chain 63, DC on the fourth chain from hook, DC across
Fasten Off.
Assembly:
Handle: Sew it to the sides of the bag at the 14th row.
Eyes: Sew the eyes to the 6th to 8th round of the bag. Don’t forget to sew a white yarn on the middle of the eyes.
Mouth: Sew black yarn for the mouth on the 4th round.
Scars: Sew back stitches between the 9th and 10th round of the bag to make the scar.
