Berrylicious Crochet Bag

Hello everyone… Today I am so glad to be back to share another free crochet pattern. This time I’ll be sharing a free written and video tutorial for this bag I call this the Berrylicious Crochet Bag. I’m not sure if the name is ok but that’s all I can think of. I’m really bad at naming my crochet patterns. LOL…

I made this bag as a gift to my best friend on her birthday and I’m so glad that she liked it as much as I do. She even modeled for my blog.

Materials Needed

1 Ball Caron Cakes yarn in mixed berry

4.00 mm. crochet hook

Pair of scissors

yarn needle

Crochet Abbreviations:

CH = chain

DC = double crochet

sts = stitches

Pattern for the Bag Base:
(worked in the round)
Round 1: CH 50+2(acts as a DC), DC on 4rth CH from hook, DC in next 47 sts, on last CH work (DC 1, CH 2, DC 3, CH 2, DC 1), DC in next 48 sts, on the bottom of the CH that acts as a DC work (DC 1, CH 2, DC 3, CH 2), slip stitch on top of the CH that acts as a DC.

Round 2: CH 3, DC in next 49 sts, on CH 2 space work (DC 2, CH 2, DC 2), DC in next 3 sts, on CH 2 space work (DC 2, CH 2, DC 2), DC in next 50 sts, on CH 2 space work (DC 2, CH 2, DC 2), DC in next 3 sts, in CH 2 space work (DC 2, CH 2, DC 2), slip stitch.

Round 3: CH 3, DC in next 51 sts, on CH 2 space work (DC 2, CH 2, DC 2), DC in next 7 sts, on CH 2 space work (DC 2, CH 2, DC 2), DC in next 54 sts, on CH 2 space work (DC 2, CH 2, DC 2), DC in next7 sts, in CH 2 space work (DC 2, CH 2, DC 2), DC in next 2 sts, slip stitch.

Round 4: CH3, DC in next 53 sts, in CH 2 space make 4 DC, DC in next 11 sts, in CH 2 space make 4 DC, DC in next 58 sts, in CH 2 space make 4 DC, DC in next 11 sts, in CH 2 space make 4 DC, DC in next 4 sts, slip stitch.

I have made a crochet diagram for the base of the bag.

Continue making the body of the bag

Round 5: CH 3 (acts as a DC), DC in next 153 sts working on the backloop only, slip stitch on top of CH that acts as a DC

Round 6-11: CH 3 (acts as a DC), DC in next 153 sts, slip stitch

Round 12-25: CH 3, DC in next, skip 2 sts, shell in next ( shell pattern = DC 2, CH 1, DC 2 ), skip 2 sts, [(DC in next 2 sts, skip 2 sts, shell in next, skip 2 sts)]*repeat 20 times, slip stitch.

For the Bag Handle (Make 2)

Row 1: Leave a long tail, Ch 110, DC on 3rd CH from hook, DC in next 107 sts, turn your work

Row 2: Ch 3, DC in next 107 sts, sl st, leave a long tail, fasten off

Sew the handle of the bag, Weave ends.
