I made an apple roundup on my last post and I was inspired to make my own apple inspired crochet project. I really love amigurumis and I figured out that I want to make an apple amigurumi. Let’s call him Appy the Apple. Isn’t he an adorable amigurumi? Tell me in the comments section below…
Here’s the Pattern
Materials Needed:
Worsted Weight Yarn in Red, Green and Brown
3.75 mm crochet hook
Crochet Thread in black,white and blue for the eyes and mouth
1.3 mm steel hook
Tapestry Needle
Yarn Cutter
Poly Fill
Gauge:
4 SC = 1″
Finished item dimensions:
height: 3.5“
width: 2.75″
Crochet Abbreviations:
SC – single crochet
DC – double crochet
TR – triple crochet
dec – decrease
inc – increase
sts – stitches
ch – chain
Body
Using Worsted Weight Yarn in Red
Round 1: Magic Circle, ch 1 (doesn’t count as a DC), 6 SC in ring = 6 sts (this will be the top of your amigurumi)
Round 2: SC inc in each stitch around= 12 sts
Round 3: (SC inc, SC in next)* repeat 6x = 18 sts
Round 4: (SC inc, SC in next 2 sts) * repeat 6x= 24 sts
Round 5: (SC inc, SC in next 3 sts) * repeat 6x= 30 sts
Round 6-11: SC in the next 30 sts= 30 sts
Round 12: (SC dec, SC in next stitch)* repeat 9x=20 sts
Stuff your amigurumi with polyfill and continue filling as you go.
Round 13-14: SC in the next 20 sts = 20 sts
Round 15: SC dec in each stitch around= 10 sts
Round 16: SC dec in each stitch around= 5 sts
Fasten Off.
Eyes
Use black crochet thread
Round 1: Magic Circle, ch 1 (doesn’t count as a DC), 6 SC in ring= 6 sts
Change to blue crochet thread
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around = 12 sts, slip stitch to the first stitch of the round
Fasten off. Leave tail for sewing.
Sew a white crochet thread on the eyes as shown on the picture above.
Stem
Use Brown Yarn
Round 1: Magic Circle, ch 1 (doesn’t count as a DC), 4 SC in ring = 4 sts
Round 2-4: 4 SC around = 4 sts
Fasten Off. Leave tail for sewing.
Leaf
Use green yarn
Round 1: Ch 10, SC in the 8th chain from hook, SC, DC, TR, TR, DC, SC,SC, Ch 2,
(Working now on the opposite side of foundation) SC, SC, DC, TR, TR, DC, SC, SC, slip stitch.
Fasten Off. Leave tail for sewing.
Assembly
Body

Stem
Sew the stem to the upper middle part of the apple.
Leaf
Sew the leaf to the right side of the stem as pictured below.
Eyes
Sew it to the 6th to 8th round of the body.
Mouth
Sew a mouth on the 10th round of the body.
